Here's some stuff that I've seen, places I've been, and bits in
between.
My first car - October 1982 to Summer 1984.
An Austin 1300, once owned by my Gran. She did
9000 miles between 1973 and 1982. I sold the car
in Summer '84 with 27000 on the clock.
Note the highly modified fibreglass front end - I
stuffed the original Austin body work into a wall
during a spin on loose chippings on 27th July 1983.
The little Austin was a scream on wheels, 7-Up on a
Friday night going to the pub with six of your mates.
beer 50p a pint - petrol £1-45 a gallon.
I only got stopped for speeding once - and fined
£50, mind you it was about 70mph in a 30 zone!
(Miss-spent youth).
93mph was the top speed achievable on the Bangor
bypass - then the front end starts to resonate - what
a laugh!
George Heriot's School - photographed in 1992.
I spent four of the best years of my life here. My classroom is on
the top floor extreme right. School built 1628 - I was there
1973 to 1976 getting a decent education. Oh happy daze!
Henley Regatta 1988
Pictured here are Dave Janes a good
school friend who I lost touch with some
years ago and 3 lady friends.
I am now back in touch with Dave but
haven't seen any of the ladies for over a
decade.
Come Fly With Me
July 1983 - left to right Neil Corlett,
Pilot 1, Gary Corkish, Anthony who
drank Campari and Orange?, Ken
Boak, Jamie Kissack , Pilot 2.
Just flown in from a day trip to Toulouse
courtesy of British Aerospace - my tie
still appears to be jet-lagged.
Gary, Neil, Jamie - I know your out
there - speak to you all again someday.
Toga Party December 1983
Dan Pemberton, Jim, John and
Sue.
Matt and Gwen (an item at the
time) still visible in the
background - hadn't left early for
a bonk
This was a bit of a rave we had at
the end of the first term at Bangor
University.
We were young, the sheets
needed washing anyway..........
John I still have the photos of you
in the suspenders - get in touch
and they're yours! (The
suspenders that is).
White Fluffy Stuff!
Whilst in a Festive Mood over Christmas
Past, 1983 was particularly special with
snow falling on December 27th. The
following 2 shots are of our family home
in the Isle of Man with some quite
unseasonal weather.
Doesn't jpeg compression really spoil that
sky?
Capital City
This first batch of photos has been brough to you courtesy of
Slim Jim (above). Little did he know that in 16 years time he
would be typing this tosh!
Barbican or possibly Trafalgar Square summer 1984 - spray
on Stretch Denim jeans, purple shades - white socks, what
was I thinking!
